（一）human强调“人群”，human being强调“个人”，

基本上 human = human beings ，但不可以说 human = human being



（二）在一些惯用的表达，两者不能互换，例如疾病的“人传人”叫human to human transmission，但不可以说 human being to human being transmission.



（三）human可以做形容词，human being不可以。

mankind/human/human being



mankind和human是指人类，human也表示为human being.



其区别是：mankind本身就表示复数，其谓语动词用复数。



Human 或human being本身是单数，有单复数的变化，其谓语动词由单复数决定。



Mankind=human beings



当人，神，动物相区别时，指人，通常用human being(s)



而mankind有男性的意思，要弱化性别差别时，表示人或人类，用human being. 



如：Mankind are considered the smartest animals in the world。（人类是世上最聪明的动物）



= Man is the smartest animal……。 



(如果改为：Human beings are considered the smartest animals…… 就能包括男女。所以 mankind = man = human beings) 



(注意：mankind 后面动词要用复数，而 man 的后面动词，则用单数)



另外，human还有形容词性，意思是：人性的，人类的，有同情心的，人力的，如：



He is human. 他有人性。Human resources 人力资源



People是指人们或人民，是集体名词，谓语动词用复数。



另一个意思是民族，其复数形式表示民族。



以下几个词组也表示人或人类：



human race ，man, mankind people，humankind , men , person , people( 56 peoples

人的，人类的：关于或属于人的或有其特征的：

the course of human events; the human race.

人类活动的过程；人类

(2)Having or showing those positive aspects of nature and character that distinguish human beings from the lower animals:

有人性的，通人情的：具有人的本性或特征中积极方面的或表现出这些方面的，这些积极方面将人类与低等动物区分开来：

an act of human kindness.

一个表现出人类善良本性的行动

(3)Subject to or indicative of the weaknesses, imperfections, and fragility associated with human beings:

人性的缺点，人性的脆弱面：属于或表现出与人类相关联的软弱、缺陷和脆弱的：

a mistake that shows he's only human; human frailty.

这个错误证明他也是个凡人；人的脆弱

(4)Having the form of a human being.

具有人类外表的

(5)Made up of human beings:

用人构成的：

formed a human bridge across the ice.

在冰上搭起一座人桥
