After restoration, Japanese residence in Taipei Botanical Garden re-opens (2014/09/02)

A Japanese-style house from the colonial era has recently been renovated with the help of volunteers and private enterprises at the Taipei Botanical Garden. The building and surrounding garden were fully restored to their former zen-like simplicity.

A Japanese-style building made with dark wood and surrounded by white stones is situated within the walls of the Taipei Botanical Gardens. After its recent re-opening following renovations, it was given the name Nanmending 323, harkening back to the Japanese colonial era.

Here we see the surrounding garden has a Japanese zen style design based on the image of a turtle and a crane.

The grand re-opening of this building includes an exhibition of plant paintings made by volunteers at the botanical garden.

植物園新館

台北植物園的蓮花池角落,有棟日據時代的木造平房,現在農委會將它重新翻修,設為新館「南門町三二三」。運用日式庭園造景,打造出幽靜的風格,希望讓民眾一窺它的往日風華。

墨色的木造建築外,圍繞著翠綠的植物,點綴著雪白的碎石,這是台北植物園開設的新館,採用日本殖民時代的地籍資料,命名為「南門町三二三」。

(此處的)庭園設計跟日本的禪學有相當的類似,用了龜跟鶴的意像,作為庭園的佈置。

新館舍盛大開幕,室內陳列著由植物園志工,獨立完成的植物繪圖展。

民間的創意跟彈性,對於我們整個創新發展,是有非常大的幫忙,由我們熱心的企業家來捐輸、維持,做永續經營。
