Taipei 101 neighbor to hold fireworks display of its own three minutes before the countdown (2014/12/29)
As citizens and visitors eagerly await Taipei 101’s annual fireworks display on New Year’s Eve, another building is planning to add some color and noise to the celebration. The Kelti Group’s modern high-rise office, located around the corner from Taipei 101, is also planning its own low-altitude fireworks display, which takes place at 11:57 on Wednesday. Under fears that low-altitude fireworks will easily scatter, the city fire department is asking the Kelti Group to take extra safety measures.
Taipei 101’s fireworks display has come to be the city’s premier New Year’s eve celebration event, and the Kelti Group wants to join in on the fun with its own fireworks display that will take place three minutes before the New Year. But some are wondering whether Kelti is trying to outdo 101.

Our intention is not at all to take the spotlight. Our firecrackers and fireworks will go off at the first floor plaza at our office, and will add just a sparkle to the celebration.
Although it’s a normal set of fireworks, New Year’s eve is expected to attract unusually large crowds. Over fears of safety of New Year’s revelers in the area, the
city’s fire department has changed its safety requirements to stipulate that low-altitude fireworks, such as the kind being used by Kelti be let off at a distance of at least 10 meters from a crowd. Normally the required distance is 8 meters.

We are taking into consideration the large number of people expected to attend, and we have asked Kelti to take stronger measures to achieve 100 percent safety.
The fire department is increasing its manpower on New Year’s eve as part of its preparations for the New Year’s fireworks display as the city welcomes 2015 on Wednesday.

今年到信義區看跨年煙火的民眾有福了，離101一街之隔的克緹大樓將在11點57分提前施放低空煙火，不過因為低空煙火容易亂竄
