	英文 English  McDonald’s planning to adopt new operating model in Taiwan (2015/06/24) McDonald’s plans to change the way it operates in Taiwan but will not pull out of the market, contrary to some reports. The fast-food giant could seek new investors who would have greater authority over how local restaurants are run. Consumers were surprised to hear that poor operational performance at McDonald’s had led to rumors of a withdrawal from Taiwan. McDonald’s quickly released a statement to say that its plans for Taiwan are part of a new global strategy. It hopes to seek “developmental licensees” in Taiwan who will be given greater authority over how they do business. The plan is in its early stages, and no new partner has been established. McDonald’s emphasized that it will remain in Taiwan. There are a total of 413 directly operated and franchised McDonald’s restaurants in Taiwan. Only a handful of companies could take on a restaurant chain of this scale. One possibility would be Uni-President Corp., which was rumored to be in talks. Voice of Tu Chung-cheng Uni-President Corp.
