”賣黃牛票” 的動詞是 scalp [skælp]
例: He tried to make some extra money by scalping tickets.
有趣的是, 其實 scalp 這個字平常是 ”頭皮” 的意思
當動詞的話就是 ”把頭皮割下” 的意思
所以 scalper 本來是把別人的頭皮割下來的人 (像印地安人)
但現在則是指 ”賣黃牛票的人”
也可以叫 ticket scalper
例: We bought the movie tickets from a (ticket) scalper.
而要指 ”黃牛票” 的話, 則是把剛才那兩個字反過來, 叫 scalper ticket(s)
例: Scalper tickets are usually more expensive, but they save you the trouble
of waiting in line.

至於為何要用 ”割別人的頭皮” 來指賣黃牛票, 眾說紛紜
有一說是因為賣黃牛票的人等於是越過正當售票業者, 直接賺取最高利益
也有一說是早期歐洲人在屠殺印地安人時, 是以割下的頭皮數來計算賞金的
所以現在就用 scalp 來指賣黃牛票這種 ”斷頭” 生意
或是說這種昧著良心賺黑心錢的生意
不過站在消費者的立場, 有時黃牛票還蠻方便的呀......
