Military honor guard and celebrities turn out for National Day festivities (2012/10/10)
Today’s National Day celebration in front of the Presidential Office was a lively and entertaining event. The military honor guard performed and celebrities joined in the festivities.
Taiwan’s National Day celebration included a performance by a 50-person strong military honor guard, dressed in identical uniforms and conducting precise movements. One of the members was actor Ming Dao, who is serving his military service.
With their eyes looking off into the distance and both hands twirling a rifle, this military honor guard underwent rigorous training to prepare for the National Day celebration.
There was also superb drumming as this group wished Taiwan a very happy birthday. Film star Hsu Hao-hsuan, who starred in the film “Din Tao: Leader of the Parade,” appeared to struggle on the drums, though he showed good spirit despite being visibly nervous.
About 2,500 students performed together. The girl with the pony tail is entertainer Kao Ling-fung’s daughter Ge Chih-yang.

Today, people from all different walks of life, including many celebrities, came forward to show both their enthusiasm and love for Taiwan on National Day.
