Taiwan's Unwritten Rules of the Road (To be Continued...)
1. When turning left from a major thoroughfare onto a side street, turn in to the left of the car waiting at the side street's stop sign or you might get hit.
2. Dodge pedestrians - don't stop for them.
3. When merging right onto a main road, pull a California stop without looking back.
4. Red lights are a suggestion to stop. If the light has only been red for a couple of seconds, you may be able to run it. Conversely, always wait for a couple of seconds after a light turns green before you enter the intersection.
5. If you are turning left at an intersection, turn in front of oncoming traffic. They will stop for you.
6. If riding a scooter, you may ride down the wrong side of the street until you can find a place to merge with traffic. If someone almost hits you, you may give them a dirty look.
