McDonald’s plans to change the way it operates in Taiwan but will not pull out of the market, contrary to some reports. The fast-food giant could seek new investors who would have greater authority over how local restaurants are run.

Hon Hai together with Japan’s Softbank and Alibaba are cooperating on a robot that will soon go into mass production. At a press conference today, Hon Hai Chairman Terry Gou announced that the robot would be named “Pepper” and will go on sale in Japan at the end of June. The robot can help customers settle their bills, do housework, and also express basic emotions.
