英文片語 “as it were” 應該如何解釋?

今天就來介紹 “as it were” 這個片語。

as it were = in a way; so to speak; used to describe sb or sth in a way that is not quite exact

He became, as it were, a man without a country.

Wayne became our idol as it were, the man we all wanted to be.
(Wayne

It is a mistake to believe that computers can “think”. They need detailed instructions from human beings in order to be able to operate. They can never, as it were, lead independent lives, or “rule the world” by making decisions of their own.

as it were

1.in a manneras if it really were 宛如;似乎
*Her mother is, as it were, her friend.
*He is,as it were,a walking dictionary.
2.so to speak可以說
*Books are,as it were,his life.
